Constructed by Edward I on the western inner curtain wall (1281), restored by Anthony Salvin in the 1850’s, this project started with visual inspections of the condition of the external fabric, followed by more extensive investigations including high level inspections of stonework from a cherry picker. The repairs comprised reconstruvtion of a ventilated lead-covered roof, masonry repairs and access improvements.
