Balliol College, Holywell Manor
Repair and conservation of the south elevation of the 12th-13th century Grade II Listed building for Balliol College, Oxford.
The building’s south elevation has been repaired on numerous occasions mostly using hard cement mortars, including replacement of what used to be stone lintel with a concrete one. As the result, stone elevation has suffered damage and needed complete de-pointing followed by repairs and deep repointing in lime mortar.
Contract Value – circa £60,000 as part of a larger repair programme
