26 Alexander Park Road – Extension

This detached, late Victorian six bedrooms, three bathrooms house is located on the corner plot between Coniston and Alexandra Park Roads.
The owners wanted to add a contemporary extension on the east side, the full length of the house. The brief was to create a space for a granny flat on the north-east side with separate entrance, and an airy, open plan conservatory on the south-east end.

Project cost: circa £600,000.

The whole house was renovated, fully rewired and redecorated. The basement was lined using Delta system, to create laundry room, general storage area and a new wine store. A new master bedroom, changing area and bathroom was created on the top floor by adding a small extension on the south side. The ground floor was envisaged as a fully open plan, front to back, and it incorporated the existing bay window into the new design without the need to demolish it. Historic features were retained throughout the house.
