A second front door leads to the dining area, which functions as the heart of the home with the kitchen and living room either side. The dining room is centred around a large bay window, which opens into the garden opposite the focal point for the back garden, a fine Indian Bean Tree. The stairs allow this space to become double height, lit from above by ridge rooflights, and lead to three bedrooms nestled under the roof, creating soaring spaces internally whilst minimising the overall form of the building eternally in accordance with its setting in a post war outskirt of Chichester.
New parsonage, St Wilfrid’s Chichester
A new family parsonage home for the parish of St Wilfrid’s Chichester.
We designed the house in accordance with the church of England’s ‘Green Guide to parsonages’ which sets out essential criteria and guidelines on how the working and living sections of the house should function.
The study projects out at the front of the house creating a working area away from the rest of the house whilst creating and overlooking the entrance.
