Dr Johnson’s House, Gough Square, London

This beautiful, Georgian Town House was home to Dr Johnson for many years, and he wrote his famous Dictionary of English Language here.
The house is a gem and over the years Carden & Godfrey have looked after it, undertaking various small and large repairs.
We are now in the process of re-designing the basement to improve the necessary office space for the staff and volunteers and to improve public areas and accessibility.
